Lasya Rupa Penumarthi is an accomplished Kuchipudi dancer, based in the Atlanta area, USA. She received her extensive training under the tutelage of her mother and renowned Guru Sasikala Penumarthi, who is the esteemed Director of the Academy of Kuchipudi Dance in Atlanta. Through this academy, Lasya Rupa Penumarthi has been immersed in the art form since a young age. She made her debut performance as "Child Srikrishna" in the classical dance drama "Srinivasa Kalyanam" in 2002, a production choreographed and directed by her guru, Sasikala Penumarthi, when Lasya Rupa was still a first-grader. A significant milestone in her dance journey was her Kuchipudi Rangapravesam, which took place on January 22, 2017. Her performance career also includes collaborative works, such as a "Salalitha Raga Kuchipudi Dance" with her guru, Sasikala Penumarthi, presented at a workshop at Emory University in 2013. Demonstrating a multifaceted talent, Lasya Rupa Penumarthi also pursues a career in science, currently as a Bioinformatics PhD candidate at the University of Georgia.
