Smt. Latha Aravindan is a respected figure in Indian classical dance, primarily known for her contributions to Bharatanatyam as a guru, choreographer, and nattuvannar. She is the founder and head of Premalaya Natyaniketan, a prominent institution for Bharatanatyam training located in Nanganallur, Chennai, India. The academy was established in the year 2000. Smt. Latha Aravindan received her training in Bharatanatyam under the tutelage of Kalaimamani Smt. Revathy Muthuswamy, who is also the Director of Srirangam Bharatanatyalaya. As a dedicated teacher, Smt. Latha Aravindan has guided numerous students through their Bharatanatyam journey, including preparing them for their arangetrams (debut performances). Her expertise extends to choreography and nattuvangam, the rhythmic accompaniment and direction of a Bharatanatyam performance. She is often referred to with the honorific title "Natya Sudar", signifying her esteemed position in the dance community. Her academy, Premalaya Natyaniketan, is actively involved in promoting Bharatanatyam, with students regularly participating in various dance events and festivals, showcasing their skills under her guidance.
