Madhurima Narla is a renowned Indian classical dancer specializing in Kuchipudi, with proficiency also in Bharatanatyam. Born in Mangalagiri, she grew up in Chennai. She began her Kuchipudi training at the age of 12 under the legendary Padmabhushan Dr. Vempati Chinna Sathyam. She further honed her skills for over a decade under Guru Smt. Sathya Priya, the founder-director of "Narthana Saala" and a senior disciple of Dr. Vempati Chinna Sathyam. She continues her learning under the guidance of Guru Sri Ravi Vempati. Madhurima is also trained in Kalarippayattu under Guru Anil Natyaveda. As a performer, Madhurima Narla is acclaimed for her high-energy performances, immaculate footwork, and sensitive abhinaya, having performed in numerous sabhas and dance festivals across India and internationally in countries like the USA, UK, Sweden, Finland, and Australia. She conceptualized, choreographed, and performed the opening event "Swagata Geetam" for the 2nd International Kuchipudi Dance Convention in Hyderabad in December 2010. She has choreographed ballets such as "Kuchipudi Vaibhavam" and "Gangaavataranam," which have received critical acclaim. Madhurima Narla founded the Tanmaya Dance Academy, a registered non-profit trust dedicated to teaching, propagating, and promoting Kuchipudi dance. The academy conducts regular classes and workshops in Hyderabad, Chennai, and the USA. She is also a visiting faculty at Sanskrit Vidya Peetham and an empanelled artist at ICCR. Beyond dance, Madhurima has an acting career, having appeared in several Telugu, Tamil, and Malayalam films since the early 90s, including "Sirivennela," "Shatamanam Bhavati," and "Orey Rickshaw."
