Malabi Choudhury is an Indian classical dancer specializing in the Manipuri dance form. She has received training from esteemed gurus in the field. Choudhury learned to play the Pung, a traditional Manipuri drum, under the guidance of Padmashri Darshana Jhaveri. She further honed her Manipuri dance skills under the tutelage of Guru Poushali Chatterjee. Throughout her career, Malabi Choudhury has actively performed in various Manipuri dance productions. In April 2024, she was among the performers in "A bouquet of classical Manipuri dance," presented by Manipuri exponent Poushali Chatterjee and the Nandanik Movement Arts group at the Satyajit Ray Auditorium in Kolkata. During this event, she performed pieces such as "Hari Sayol Tara," a composition by Poushali Chatterjee, and also participated in compositions on the Pung and "Nongi Ithin," both originally by Guru Bipin Singh. Earlier, in November 2013, Choudhury performed "Kanduk-khel," a composition by Guru Bipin Singh, alongside Debanjali Biswas, with Guru Darshana Jhaveri conducting the performance. Her performances have also been noted in contexts such as "Vasant Raas, Pontha Jagoi, Mandila Nartan" and a warming-up session at the NCPA stage.
