Manju Hemamalini Chavali is a distinguished Indian classical dancer, teacher, and choreographer primarily known for her expertise in Kuchipudi. Her journey in dance began at the age of five, with initial training in Guntur under Sri Chinta Adinarayana Sarma. At the age of thirteen, she was selected by the legendary Guru Padmabhushan Dr. Vempati Chinna Satyam to train as a resident student at the Kuchipudi Art Academy in Chennai, where she immersed herself in the art form for over twelve years. By the age of eighteen, Dr. Vempati Chinna Satyam appointed her as a resident instructor at his academy. She holds a Master's degree in Performing Arts from the Central University of Hyderabad and is recognized as a Grade A Doordarshan artist. Chavali is also an empanelled Kuchipudi Artist with the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR). Her career as a performer has taken her to major festivals across India and internationally, including the USA, Canada, Germany, Singapore, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Japan, South Korea, Indonesia, and Greece. She has choreographed over 25 to 30 original pieces, six tarangams (plate dances), and ten dance ballets, and has supervised more than 15 Ranga Pravesams (debut solo performances). In 2011, she established the Guru Parampara School of Arts in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, aiming to preserve and propagate authentic Kuchipudi dance.
