Manjula Amaresh is an established Bharatanatyam artiste and a prominent teacher based in Bangalore, India. She began her Bharatanatyam training at a young age, graduating under the guidance of renowned Gurus Smt. Shyamala Muralikrishna and Smt. Revathi Narasimhan in Bangalore. Her extensive training also includes being a senior disciple of legendary figures such as Karnataka Kalashree Smt. Bhanumathi, Padmabhushan Shri. V. P. Dhananjayan, Padmabhushan Smt. Shantha Dhananjayan, and Padmabhushan Smt. Kalanidhi Narayanan, with a particular focus on abhinaya under Smt. Kalanidhi Narayanan. Manjula Amaresh completed her Arangetram (Rangapravesha) in 1992. She holds a Masters Degree in Bharatanatyam with distinction from Bharathidasan University, Tiruchirappalli, and secured the First Rank for the Karnataka State in the Bharathanatyam Vidwath Examination conducted by the Government of Karnataka. Her career spans over 250 performances both in India and internationally, where she has presented her art to diverse audiences and delivered numerous lecture-demonstrations on Bharatanatyam, including at Keene State University in New Hampshire, USA. As an educator, Manjula Amaresh is the director of the Bharathaanunada school for Bharatanatyam in Bangalore. She also conducts Bharatanatyam classes at the Prestige Centre for Performing Arts (PCPA) in Bangalore, catering to children, adults, experienced learners, and women. Her teaching methodology emphasizes a blend of discipline and creativity, ensuring structured and engaging progress for all her students.
