Manjushree Raghav is a distinguished Indian classical dancer and educator, specializing in Bharatanatyam. Hailing from Mangalore, India, she possesses a Vidwat certification in Bharatanatyam, a testament to her profound dedication and skill in the art form. Her journey in dance spans over two decades of intensive training, primarily under the esteemed guidance of Guru Vidushi Vidyashree Radhakrishna. Further enriching her artistic foundation, Manjushree Raghav has also received training from other luminaries in the field, including Guru Padma Subramanyam, the renowned institution Kalakshetra, the late Guru Muralidhar Rao, and Guru Bragha Bessell. This diverse and rigorous training has equipped her with a deep understanding and mastery of Bharatanatyam's intricate techniques and expressive nuances. Her artistic versatility extends beyond performance; Manjushree Raghav is also a trained vocalist and a proficient Nattuvanar, demonstrating a holistic command over the musical and rhythmic aspects essential to Bharatanatyam. Her significant contributions to Indian classical dance have been widely acknowledged through several prestigious awards. She is an esteemed recipient of the Karnataka Kala Jyothi award and the Bharatha Muni Award, recognizing her excellence and dedication. Furthermore, she holds the distinction of being an Empaneled Artiste with the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) and a graded artiste of Bengaluru Doordarshan, highlighting her national recognition and artistic merit. As a committed educator, Manjushree Raghav plays a vital role in nurturing the next generation of Bharatanatyam dancers. She serves as a Bharatanatyam faculty member at Gaana Nritya Academy, an institution established by her guru, Vidyashree Radhakrishna, with the noble aim of preserving and promoting Indian classical music and dance. Since December 2019, she has also been a Bharatanatyam Faculty member at alapana, further expanding her teaching outreach. Her pedagogical impact is evident in the accomplishments of her disciples, many of whom have achieved national recognition in Bharatanatyam competitions. Demonstrating a commitment to broader cultural dissemination, she has reached over 1,000 rural students through initiatives like Routes to Roots and actively supports emerging artists by organizing and participating in festivals such as Aarohana.
