Mansi Somaiya is an accomplished Kathak dancer based in Mumbai, India. She is a dedicated disciple of the esteemed Guru Vidushi Shila Mehta, under whom she has received training in the Guru Shishya Parampara. Somaiya is also a recipient of the CCRT Scholarship, supporting her pursuit of Indian classical dance. Her career as a Kathak performer includes notable appearances at prestigious venues and festivals. In September 2021, she presented a Kathak performance featuring "Tal Jagtal" and "Teen Tal Indra". She was also among the students of Nupur Zankar, an institution associated with Shila Mehta, who performed "Traidha" at the Tata Theatre, NCPA Mumbai, in August 2022. This production, conceptualized and choreographed by Shila Mehta, explored the significance of the number three in Kathak. More recently, in January 2024, Somaiya was a featured dancer in "Women Speak," a Kathak production that celebrated womanhood. This performance, conceptualized by Shila Mehta and co-choreographed by Shila Mehta and Maya Sapera, had its Indian premiere at NCPA Mumbai as part of the Lok Gatha festival. Her rhythmic precision in padhant was specifically noted during the Sanskriti Mahotsav in May 2026.
