Mousumi Bhattacharya is an Indian classical Kathak dance figure and the founder and artistic director of MK Arts Academy – Mousumi's Kathakalaya. She established the academy with a commitment to nurture awareness of Indian classical dance, train students with sincerity, and help young minds carry culture with pride and understanding. Her teaching philosophy is deeply rooted in the Guru–Shishya parampara, offering structured training that emphasizes rhythm (tala), expression (abhinaya), grace, and an in-depth understanding of classical music. Bhattacharya has actively worked to spread Indian culture globally, collaborating with the Embassy of India in cultural roles to represent and share India's artistic heritage through performances, workshops, and cultural exchanges across various continents, including South America and Russia. Her academy, based in Doha, Qatar, also provides online and in-person training to students worldwide, fostering technical excellence, cultural sensitivity, and a lasting connection to Indian classical dance among learners of all ages.
