Meera Ganapathy Dhanu is a renowned and versatile Bharatanatyam dancer and choreographer. She began her dance journey at the tender age of three and performed her Arangetram at eight years old. Her extensive training includes tutelage from esteemed gurus such as Sri Raja Rajeshwari of Bharata Natya Kala Mandir in Matunga, Mumbai, the late "Kalaimamani" A.T. Govindaraja Pillai, and the late "Kalaimamani" T.K. Mahalingam Pillai. She continues to be a devoted student of "Kalaimamani" guru Kalyanasundaram Pillai. Throughout her career, Meera Ganapathy Dhanu has performed in over 1000 shows across India and internationally, often alongside her sister, Vani Ganapathy. She has graced prestigious stages, performing for foreign delegates at the Rajbhavan in Mumbai, and in the presence of dignitaries including the King and Queen of Nepal, the President and Prime Minister of Romania, Bharat Ratna M.S. Subbulakshmi, President Nelson Mandela, and former Indian Prime Ministers Sri Jawaharlal Nehru and Sri Lal Bahadur Shastri. Her notable performances also include appearances at the 75th birthday celebration of late Sri Satya Sai Baba, the Mysore Dassera festival, Kalidas Mahotsav Nagpur, Akhil Bharatiya Sahitya Sammelan, Nashik, and the Tyagaraj festival in Delhi, where she performed in the presence of the late President of India, Abdul Kalam. Meera Ganapathy Dhanu has established her own Bharatanatyam dance academy, NRITYA SHARADA, in Nashik, with the mission to uphold the traditions of her gurus and impart classical dance knowledge to the next generation.
