Mehak Chawla is an accomplished Indian classical dancer and Bharatanatyam exponent based in Delhi, India. Her journey in dance began at the age of seven. She is a dedicated disciple of renowned dancer Geeta Chandran, under whose tutelage she has been training at Natya Vriksha since 2017, deepening her understanding and essence of the art form. Chawla performed her Bharatanatyam Arangetram on the occasion of Maha Shivratri in February 2023. She has over eleven years of experience teaching Indian Classical Dance in various schools and institutes, and currently teaches at Ambience Public School, Safdarjung Enclave. Since 2012, she has also served as an examiner with the Akhil Bhartiya Gandharva Mahavidyalaya Mandal, Mumbai. Beyond Bharatanatyam, Mehak Chawla has expanded her artistic knowledge through various workshops, including Kalaripayattu and Chhau, which have aided her body conditioning. She also undertook a month-long intensive training in Kudiyattam under Guru Margi Madhu Chakyar as part of the Gurukul Anubhav Scholarship – SPIC MACAY. Her academic qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in BCA, GDIT, a B.A. and M.A. in Dance, a Post Graduate Diploma in Yogic Science, a Post Graduate Diploma in Cultural Management (PGDCM), and foundation and certificate courses in "Yogasana" and "Pranayama & Meditation" from the Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga. As a performer, she has graced stages such as the Natyanjali Festival at the Brihadeeswarar Temple. She is also an art educator and researcher, delivering lectures on topics like the cultural history of India and media art.
