Mehraj Haque Tushar is a prominent dance artist, choreographer, and teacher from Bangladesh, recognized for his contributions to classical, folk, traditional, and contemporary dance forms. Born in Kuwait, Tushar began his dance journey at the tender age of three, developing a profound passion for the art form. He is the founder of the Rhythm Dance Institute, an academy dedicated to nurturing dance talent. Tushar has achieved significant recognition throughout his career, securing championships in several national competitions. He was the champion of Shikha Jatio Shoptaho for three consecutive years (1997, 1998, 1999), and also won Notun Kuri in 2002 and the first season of Channel I Sera Nachiye in 2012. His international exposure includes performances in 35 countries across Europe, North America, and London. Notably, in 2006, he performed in Norway, London, and France as part of the entertainment accompanying Dr. Muhammad Yunus when the latter received the Nobel Prize. His classical dance repertoire includes Kathak, which he showcased at the Bengal Classical Music Festival 2017. During this festival, he performed a Kathak duet with Snata Shahrin as part of the "Nritya Chirantan" segment, which was organized by Sharmila Bannerjee and directed/choreographed by Shibly Mohammad, Bimbavati Devi, and Kirti Ramgopal. Tushar has also contributed to contemporary dance as a choreographer for the Contemporary Dance Festival 2018, a project initiated by Goethe-Institut Bangladesh in collaboration with the Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy.
