Mohana Katdare is an accomplished Indian classical Kathak dancer, teacher, and the founder of Naadashray, a dance academy established in 2020. Her journey in dance began at the age of 11, though her passion for movement was evident even earlier through freestyle dancing to Bollywood songs. She initially trained under Mrs. Nivedita Ranade, completing her Nrutya Visharad (Diploma of ABGMM in Kathak) and serving as an assistant teacher. Her pursuit of Kathak deepened when she undertook her Nrutya Alankar (Post Graduate Diploma of ABGMM in Kathak) and M.A. in Kathak from KKSU, Ramtek, under the guidance of Dr. Mrs. Manjiri Shreeram Deo, who was also her first Guru's Guru. This period marked a significant shift, solidifying her view of Kathak as a potential career. Mohana Katdare also holds an M.A. (Hons) in English from Mumbai University, which she integrates into her dance teaching by connecting literature, Rasa theory, and choreography. She gained teaching experience from 2014 to 2019 as an assistant to both her gurus before establishing Naadashray on February 10, 2020. Despite facing challenges due to the COVID-19 pandemic shortly after its inception, she adapted to online classes. Currently, she continues her research and advanced training under Dr. Mrs. Manjiri Deo.
