Mrs. Ragini Rajagopal is a pioneering Bharatanatyam teacher originally from Sri Lanka. She established her first dance school in Sri Lanka in 1975. In 1985, she relocated to the United Kingdom, where her reputation as a skilled teacher preceded her. She was approached by the headmistress of St Franciscan School in Tooting, London, and began teaching Bharatanatyam there, a role she has continued for over 35 years. Mrs. Rajagopal instructs both Sri Lankan and multiracial students, contributing significantly to the preservation and promotion of traditional Bharatanatyam in the UK. She is recognized as one of London's most famous teachers and holds the distinction of being the first Indian dance teacher to be acknowledged by Wandsworth Council. Her dedication to Sri Lankan dance has earned her several awards. Mrs. Rajagopal and her dancers regularly perform at religious festivals and charitable events, showcasing the vibrant culture of Sri Lanka through dance. Many of her students have gone on to become dance teachers themselves, ensuring the continuation of this art form. She also founded Ragini Rajagopal's Natyalaya in London, UK.
