Ankita Khanna is a New York–based Bharatanatyam artist, choreographer, educator, and arts professional whose journey uniquely bridges science, movement, wellness, and cultural storytelling. She holds a Chemistry degree from the University of Mumbai and a professional dance diploma from Shiamak Davar’s Institute for the Performing Arts. Her extensive Bharatanatyam training spans over 26 years, primarily under the tutelage of Guru Smt. Revathi Srinivasraghavan. Currently, she continues to deepen her artistic practice in New York, benefiting from the mentorship of Sri Sridhar Shanmugam and Sahasra Sambamoorthi, co-founders of Navatman. Khanna's diverse career showcases her versatility, encompassing teaching and performing Bollywood, contemporary, and theatrical dance forms. Her professional experience includes serving as a dance captain for a Broadway-style musical at Dubai Parks and Resorts and working as a full-time dance educator at leading IB and Cambridge schools in Mumbai. In New York, she has made significant contributions to arts education, teaching hundreds of students across more than 50 public schools through collaborations with the New York City Department of Education. She has also partnered with several prominent dance organizations and cultural institutions in the city. Beyond dance, Ankita is a certified yoga instructor and personal fitness trainer, skillfully integrating principles of anatomy, body awareness, and injury prevention into her teaching methodology. Her choreographic portfolio includes classical and contemporary works such as "AANKHON KI GUSTAKHIYAN" (2021) and "Nature Within" (2026), an original Indian contemporary dance exploration presented during her MFA in Dance summer residency at Montclair State University, which delves into the idea of nature as a reflection of our inner world.
