🪔 About
Nandini V. Rangan is an Indian classical dancer specializing in Bharatanatyam. She was groomed in the Pandallur style of Bharatanatyam by her guru, Natyacharya K. Muralidhar Rao. Her performances have been noted for their exquisite blend of music and dance, with one critic in May 1989 describing her as moving "with the agility of a deer, grace of a horse and majesty of an elephant." In a 1990 recital as a teenager, her depiction of the Lalgudi Navarasa Padavarna was recognized as a "new and welcome offshoot" of the Pandallur style by doyenne UK Chandrabhaga Devi. By 2001, her art was described as having a "refreshing picture nurtured by the traditional nutrients," and her performances demonstrated "maturity with imagination." Nandini V. Rangan has performed at venues such as the Jaganmohan Palace and has been sponsored by organizations like Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan. She is currently based in the United States.
