Nanditha Prabhu is an accomplished Indian classical dancer proficient in both Mohiniyattam and Bharatanatyam. Her journey in the performing arts began at a young age, nurtured under the tutelage of her mother, Kalaratna Kalamandalam Sugandhi, for Mohiniyattam. For Bharatanatyam, she received training from the esteemed Dr. Padma Subrahmanyam. Prabhu furthered her academic pursuits by completing a PG Diploma in Arts Management from the Madras Craft Foundation Institute of Arts Management. She is currently engaged in advanced research, pursuing a PhD in dance at Sastra University, Thanjavur, under the guidance of Dr. Padma Subrahmanyum, a testament to her dedication to both practice and scholarship in the field. Nanditha Prabhu is a recipient of significant recognition, including a senior scholarship and a junior fellowship in Mohiniyattam from the Ministry of Culture, Government of India. In 2013, she was honored with the 3E (Enchanting, Educating and Empowering) award for her contributions. As an educator and institution builder, she is a founding partner of "Mythri: centre for arts," also known as Mythri Art Academy, located in Chennai. This center offers a diverse range of classes, including dance, music, painting, and martial arts, fostering holistic development in children through fine arts. Beyond her performances and teaching, Prabhu is also a TEDx speaker, sharing her insights on "Dance as a powerful tool of communication." She has delivered numerous lectures and demonstrations, including sessions at Mahatma Gandhi College, Trivandrum, a talk on "Trees and Dance" for the NGO Nizhal in Chennai, and a lecture-demonstration on "Swati Padams in Mohiniyattam" during Maharaja Swati Tirunal's Bicentenary Celebrations at Kalakshetra Chennai. Her performance repertoire includes prestigious festivals such as Natyanjali, Nadaneeranjanam, Bharatamuni Festival, Navaratri Festival, Kerala Sangeeth Nataka Academy Festival, and Mohininrityati Festival. Awards & Honours: Senior Scholarship in Mohiniyattam, Junior Fellowship in Mohiniyattam, 3E Award (Enchanting, Educating and Empowering) (2013).
