Naureen Mehra is an Indian classical Kuchipudi dancer who marked her formal entry into the world of classical dance with her Rangapravesham (dance debut) on November 21, 2018. Her journey into Kuchipudi began at the young age of seven, when she enrolled at the prestigious Natya Tarangini Performing Arts Centre. There, she received her extensive training under the guidance of the internationally acclaimed Kuchipudi maestros, Dr. Raja Reddy, Dr. Radha Reddy, and Dr. Kaushalya Reddy. These legendary gurus are renowned for their significant contributions to the cultural landscape of Delhi and for nurturing hundreds of students in the Kuchipudi tradition, with Naureen being one of their promising disciples. At the time of her debut, Naureen Mehra was a Class XI student at The Shri Ram School, Moulsari Campus, balancing her academic pursuits with her dedication to dance. Her solo Kuchipudi recital, held at the Kamani Auditorium in New Delhi, India, was a comprehensive showcase of the art form. The performance commenced with a traditional invocation to Lord Venkateshwara, presented as the 'Shree Venkateshwara Stothram', followed by 'Dashavtara', an intricate piece illustrating the ten incarnations of Lord Vishnu. She further enthralled the audience with a 'Tarana', a Hindustani musical item expertly choreographed by her gurus, Raja and Radha Reddy, and a soulful rendition of the popular Sufi song 'Chaap Tilak Sab Cheeni'. The evening culminated with 'Tarangam', a challenging and popular Kuchipudi repertoire item where Naureen demonstrated her rhythmic prowess by dancing on the rim of a brass plate, narrating captivating stories from Lord Krishna's childhood. Naureen has been described as a dynamic and promising talent, actively participating in the Natya Tarangini troupe's performances at various cultural events both within and outside the city.
