Neelima Ahirwal is an accomplished Bharatanatyam artist and dedicated dance educator, born and raised in Gujarat, India. She began her Bharatanatyam training at the age of eight, immersing herself in the rich traditions of this ancient art form. Her initial training was under various gurus, leading to her formal solo debut, or Arangetram, in 2015. Ahirwal pursued higher education at The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, where she earned both a Bachelor's and a Master's in Performing Arts. She was recognized as an outstanding performer by her university, receiving two gold medals for her excellence in performing arts. In July 2016, Neelima Ahirwal founded the Navya School of Dance in Halol, Gujarat, India, with the aim of promoting classical dance and imparting her knowledge to the next generation. Under her leadership, the school flourished, growing to over 100 students within five years and gaining recognition as a prestigious institution for Indian classical dance. Her performing troupe showcased talent at renowned events like Panchmahotsav and won state-level competitions. She also choreographed annual showcases for schools. In January 2022, Ahirwal relocated to the United Kingdom to further her education and gain international exposure, where she also earned a Master's in Business Administration (MBA). She re-established the Navya School of Dance in Wembley, UK, in partnership with the Brent Indian Association. Through her academy, she continues to offer high-quality instruction in Bharatanatyam, including the Kalakshetra style, as well as Gujarati folk dances such as Garba, Dandiya Raas, and Tippani, to students of all ages. Neelima Ahirwal is committed to preserving and promoting Indian classical dance, inspiring the next generation to embrace its beauty, discipline, and cultural significance.
