Nepathya Sreehari Chakyar is a distinguished young exponent of Koodiyattam and Chakyarkoothu, traditional Indian classical dance forms originating from Kerala. He hails from a revered lineage of Koodiyattam artists, being the son of the acclaimed Guru Margi Madhu Chakyar and the grandson of Kochukuttan Chakyar. Sreehari Chakyar commenced his artistic journey at a remarkably young age, making his debut performance in Chakyarkoothu at eight years old in 2012, where he presented "Ganapathy Praathal" to significant appreciation. He is deeply involved with the Nepathya Centre for Excellence in Koodiyattam, an institution dedicated to the preservation and promotion of these ancient art forms. Throughout his career, Sreehari Chakyar has consistently showcased his artistic prowess in various notable performances. In 2019, he delivered a captivating portrayal of Bheema in "Kalyanasougandhikam" during Nepathya's 12th Koodiyattam Festival. The following year, at the age of seventeen, he garnered praise for his mature and nuanced depiction of Ravana in "Maya Seethankam" from Shaktibhadra's 'Ascharya Choodamani'. His versatility is further highlighted by his performance as Unmathakan in the 7th-century farce "Mathavilasam" in 2025, where his "brief but powerful performance" was particularly impactful. He has also performed as the Charioteer in "Abhijnanasakuntalam – Act 1". Nepathya Sreehari Chakyar remains a key performer in the annual Koodiyattam festivals organized by Nepathya, contributing significantly to the art form's contemporary landscape.
