🪔 About

Myriam Sophia Lakshmi Quinio, professionally known as Paris Laxmi, is a French-born Bharatanatyam dancer, actress, choreographer, and cultural educator who has settled in Kerala, India. Born on July 16, 1991, in Aix-en-Provence, France, Laxmi began her dance journey at age five with Western styles including Ballet, Jazz, Contemporary, Flamenco, and Hip-hop. Her fascination with Indian culture, nurtured by her Indophile parents, led her to begin Bharatanatyam training at the age of nine. She received initial Bharatanatyam instruction in France from Armelle Choquard and Dominique Delorme, both disciples of eminent gurus. Laxmi further honed her skills in India, training under Smt. Sucheta Chapekar in Pune and at Dr. Padma Subrahmanyam's prestigious Nrithyodaya School of Dance in Chennai. In 2012, Paris Laxmi married Kathakali dancer Pallippuram Sunil, and together they co-founded the Kalashakti School of Arts in Vaikom, Kerala, where they teach their respective dance forms. The same year, they created the duet 'Sangamam,' followed by their classical dance fusion 'Krishna Mayam' in 2015, which blends Kathakali and Bharatanatyam. Laxmi has performed extensively as a Bharatanatyam soloist and with her husband across India, the Gulf countries, and Europe, including notable performances for Prince Charles and at the Vaikom Mahadeva Temple. She also explores contemporary and Flamenco dance, having presented creations like 'Seasons on Earth' in 2016 and a Flamenco piece in 2017. Beyond dance, she is also an actress, gaining recognition for her role in the 2014 Malayalam film 'Bangalore Days.'
