Pasumarthi Mruthyumjaya Sarma is a distinguished exponent of traditional Kuchipudi, born into the renowned Pasumarthi and Vedantam lineages. He was initiated into the art at a young age and received extensive training from legendary Gurus, including Sri Vedantam Parvateesham, Sri Vedantam Rattiah Sarma, Sri Vedantam Radheshyam, Padma Bhushan Guru Dr. Vempati Chinna Satyam, and Guru Vempati Ravi Shankar. He holds a Master's degree in Kuchipudi and is recognized as an 'A' Grade Doordarshan artist. Throughout his career, Mruthyumjaya Sarma has excelled in various facets of Kuchipudi, including solo repertoire, Kalapams, and Kuchipudi Yakshaganam. He is highly regarded as a performer, teacher, choreographer, and nattuvanar, known for his strict adherence to classical aesthetics and traditional values. His performances have graced stages extensively across India and internationally. He often performs as a duo with Sitalakshmi Prasad, showcasing a palpable synergy of taandava and laasya. Beyond his performing career, Mruthyumjaya Sarma is dedicated to teaching and nurturing the next generation of Kuchipudi artists. He serves as a Senior Guest Faculty at Muvva-Nritya Raaga Nigamam and is associated with A K B K N Mandali (Reg) in Hyderabad, India. His commitment to the art form is evident in his ability to captivate audiences without compromising the core values of Kuchipudi.
