Pasumarthy Srinivasa Sarma is a distinguished Kuchipudi artist, teacher, and author, recognized for his significant contributions to the classical Indian dance form. Born to Sri Venkata Chalapathi Sarma, he received extensive training from eminent gurus including Padmabhushan Dr. Vempati Chinna Satyam, Padmasri Dr. Vedantam Satyanarayana Sarma, and Natyaratna Pasumarthi Venkateswara Sarma. He also holds a Diploma in Kuchipudi dance. Sarma has dedicated his career to propagating Kuchipudi not only through his performances but also through his writings. He is the author of several notable works, including "ABHINAYA CHANDRIKA," "KUCHIPUDI NARTANA KALA PARICHAYAM," "KUCHIPUDI NATYA KOUMUDI (TM & EM)," "KUCHIPUDI NRUTYA CHANDRICA," and "SRI SIDDHENDRA YOGI CHARITRA." His performing career spans numerous Yakshaganas, ballets, and solo performances, where he has portrayed a wide array of characters such as Lord Vishnu, Veera Bhadra, Hari Das, Lord Brahma, Agni Jyotana, Kaveri, Usha, Satya Bhama, Lord Siva, Durga, Drovpadi, Bheema, Tarakasura, and Hiranya Kasyapa. Pasumarthy Srinivasa Sarma served as an Assistant Lecturer in Kuchipudi dance at V.S. Government School of Music and Dance, Rajahmundry. He recently retired in July 2026 after 33 years of dedicated service to the institution, where he also held the position of in-charge principal. His commitment to training aspiring dancers and promoting Kuchipudi has been widely lauded.
