Paulomi Barman is an accomplished Kathak dancer, teacher, and choreographer with nearly three decades of stage performance experience. She is the visionary founder and head of Nritya Odori, a renowned Kathak dance institute situated in Tokyo, Japan. Established with the mission of promoting and preserving the rich cultural heritage of India, Nritya Odori has become a central hub for dance enthusiasts, both Japanese and international, seeking to learn and immerse themselves in the captivating art form of Kathak. Barman offers a comprehensive curriculum at Nritya Odori, catering to students from beginners to advanced practitioners. Her teaching philosophy extends beyond mere steps and techniques, endeavoring to provide a holistic learning experience by integrating the cultural, historical, and philosophical aspects of Kathak into its curriculum. This approach helps students not only gain proficiency in the dance form but also develop a deeper appreciation for its cultural significance and its ability to transcend borders.
