Piya Varma is an Indian classical dancer specializing in Bharatanatyam. She commenced her Bharatanatyam training in 2005 at the Nrityangaharam Academy of Fine Arts in Mumbai, under the tutelage of Guru Smt Anjana Dongre. After relocating to London, she continued her training in 2014 with Guru Smt Shalini Shivashankar at the Upahaar School of Dance. Varma successfully completed her Bharatanatyam Arangetram in September 2019. She has since performed both solo and in group presentations as part of the Upahaar Ensemble. Her performances have taken place at various venues in London and India, including The British Museum, The Bhavan, and Rich Mix London, as well as Sahrdaya Creative Spaces and Art on the Terrace in Chennai. Piya Varma is currently a Bharatanatyam Teacher at the Upahaar School of Dance.
