🪔 About

Poorna Hariharan is an accomplished Bharatanatyam dancer, known for her compelling performances and dedication to the art form. Her journey in Bharatanatyam began at the tender age of four, driven by her mother's enthusiasm for dance. She received her foundational training from Nadanabhushanam Vinayachandran in Thiruvananthapuram. Hariharan furthered her academic pursuit in dance, earning a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Bharatanatyam from Kalai Kaveri College of Fine Arts, Tiruchirappalli, in 2017. After completing her B.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering, Poorna Hariharan moved to Bengaluru, where she continues to reside and work as a business analyst. In Bengaluru, she pursued advanced dance training under the tutelage of renowned dancer and guru P. Praveen Kumar, the artistic director of Chithkala School of Dance. As a senior disciple of Praveen Kumar, she has been an integral part of many performances choreographed by her guru and has also participated in productions by prominent dance companies like Vyuti and Nrityarutya. Hariharan has presented numerous solo Bharatanatyam recitals, showcasing her command over both nritta (pure dance) and abhinaya (expressive dance). Her performances include a solo recital at 'Nruthyollasa' in Vyloppilli Samskrithi Bhavan, Thiruvananthapuram, and a compelling margam under the aegis of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Bangalore. She has also performed at Seva Sadan in Bangalore, presenting pieces like 'Kali Kauthvam' and the varnam 'Roopamu Joochi'. Poorna Hariharan is committed to continuously learning, understanding, and exploring the vastness of Bharatanatyam.
