Prachee Shah Paandya, also known as Prachi Shah, is an acclaimed Indian Kathak dancer and actress. Born in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, she began her Kathak training at the tender age of three, with her first stage performance for Doordarshan at five years old. She holds a Masters in Kathak and received her training under Guru Ganesh Hiralal ji, who represents the seventh generation of the Jaipur gharana. Shah Paandya is a Guinness World Record holder for performing 93 Kathak spins in one minute. In 2015, the Government of India appointed her as a Kathak ambassador for solo performances globally. She has given over 200 solo Kathak performances across India, the UK, USA, South Africa, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Jordan, Egypt, and Qatar, emphasizing the purest form of Kathak in her presentations. Beyond dance, Prachee Shah Paandya is a prominent figure in Indian television and film, having been active in the entertainment industry since 2000. She believes her Kathak training, particularly in abhinaya (expression), has significantly enhanced her acting skills. She is married to filmmaker Vishwas Paandya since 2005 and they have a daughter, Khiana.
