Prateeksha Kashi is a distinguished Indian Kuchipudi dancer, choreographer, and actress, born on May 29, 1990, in Bangalore, Karnataka, India. Hailing from an artistic lineage, she is the daughter of celebrated Kuchipudi exponent Vyjayanthi Kashi and television and theatre artist Vijaya Kashi. Prateeksha began her training in Kuchipudi at the tender age of five under the tutelage of her mother, her primary guru. By the age of thirteen, she had successfully completed her Kuchipudi dance certificate examinations, topping the state with distinction. Beyond her artistic pursuits, Prateeksha is also academically accomplished, holding a degree in Computer Science Engineering from B.M.S. Institute of Technology and Management, where she graduated as a gold medalist. After a brief stint in the corporate world with SAP Labs, she chose to dedicate herself entirely to her passion for dance. Her stage debut, known as 'Ranga Puja,' took place on February 20, 2009. Prateeksha has since become a prominent performer, gracing numerous prestigious dance festivals both nationally and internationally, including tours and workshops in the US, Canada, UK, China, Australia, Italy, South Africa, Tanzania, Mauritius, and Uganda. She is an empanelled artist of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) and an 'A' graded artist of Doordarshan, Bangalore. In addition to her performing career, Prateeksha is actively involved in teaching, coaching aspiring dancers in Bengaluru at the Shambhavi School of Dance, an institution founded by her mother. Her passion extends to choreography, and she has been featured in a Kuchipudi dance DVD titled 'The Magic of Kuchipudi,' which showcased her guru's choreographic works. Prateeksha has also ventured into acting, playing lead roles in films like the Sanskrit movie 'Priyamanasam' and the Kannada film 'Prakruthi,' which won a National Award.
