Priyadarshini Ghosh is an accomplished Indian classical and contemporary dancer, choreographer, and dance scholar, specializing in Mohiniyattam. She began her dance journey at the age of four at the Children's Little Theatre (CLT) in Kolkata, where she received early training in various Indian classical dance derivatives, including Bharatanatyam. She pursued intensive training in Mohiniyattam under Guru Thankamani Kutty at Kalamandalam around 1975-76, also identified as Kalamandalam Kalyani Kutty Amma. Further enhancing her expertise, she became a disciple of Guru Padmabhushan Smt. Kalanidhi Narayanan, excelling particularly in Abhinaya. Ghosh holds an M.A. in Dance from Kalidas Sanskrit University and has completed a Senior Fellowship on Dance as Yoga under the Ministry of Culture, India. Her academic pursuits extend to research on the mindful and contemplative aspects of performance, integrating a system of Yoga and evaluating Kudiyattam and Mohiniyattam. She is also trained in Seraikella Chhau and is proficient in Yoga, which she incorporates into her contemporary dance explorations. Her career highlights include being an International Choreographer in Residence at the American Dance Festival at Duke University in 2003. She was a Fulbright-Nehru Fellow in 2015-16, serving as a Visiting Lecturer in Theatre Arts and Performance Studies at Brown University. Priyadarshini Ghosh is an empanelled artist of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) since 1999, and also with the Sangeet Natak Akademi (SNA) and the Ministry of Culture. She co-directs the Natyanova Performing Arts Centre and has been featured on CNN International - Inside Asia.
