Priyanka Vempati is a distinguished Indian classical dancer, primarily recognized for her profound contributions to Kuchipudi. Her comprehensive artistic journey commenced at a tender age, where she received initial training in Bharatanatyam, Kuchipudi, and Mohiniattam under the tutelage of esteemed gurus Smt. Kalamandalam Satyabhama and Smt. Girija Chandran. Further solidifying her academic foundation in dance, she pursued and successfully completed a Bachelor of Arts in Mohiniattam from Sree Shankaracharya University of Sanskrit, guided by Kalamandalam Smt. Leelamaniamma. Priyanka Vempati's mastery in Kuchipudi was honed through rigorous training under the legendary Guru Padmabhushan Dr. Vempati Chinna Satyam and Kalaratna Vempati Ravi Shankar, whose intricate choreographic works she has had the privilege to perform for over a decade. Complementing her dance expertise, she also received initial music training from Guru Smt. Gomati Sree and continues her musical refinement under Guru Smt. Jayasree Malladi. Throughout her illustrious career, Priyanka Vempati has captivated audiences with extensive performances across India, various Middle Eastern countries, Singapore, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, America, and Australia. She has consistently undertaken lead roles in numerous Vempati dance dramas, marking a significant debut in 2004 as "Dakshayani" in Guru Dr. Vempati Chinna Satyam's acclaimed production 'Kirataarjuneeyam'. Her repertoire includes iconic portrayals such as Rukmini in 'Rukmini Kalyanam', Parvathy in 'Haravilasam', Sita in 'Ramayanam', Lakshmi in 'Ksheerasagara Mathanam', Satyabhama in 'Sree Krishna Parijatham', and Adisakthi in the 'Nava Durga' ballet. Her performances have graced prestigious platforms including the Swathi Thirunal Sangita Sabha Festival, Sangeetha Natak Academi Yuva Pratibha Festival, Siddhendra Yogi Mahotsav, Chidambaram Natyanjali Festival, and the Tanjore Thiruvaiyaru festival, among others. Priyanka Vempati currently serves as the Director of the Vempati Ravi Shankar School of Kuchipudi, an institution dedicated to the preservation and propagation of this traditional Indian classical art form for future generations. Her dedication to Kuchipudi has been recognized with the 11th Devadasi National Award. Her artistic philosophy is characterized by total involvement, unwavering commitment, and consummate dedication, making her a significant figure in the contemporary Kuchipudi landscape.
