Rajashree Chintak Behera is a distinguished exponent and advocate of the traditional Indian classical dance form, Odissi. Her performances are celebrated for their "gaiety, lyricism and beauty". Rajashree Chintak Behera commenced her initial training under the esteemed Gurus Durga Charan Ranbir and Harihar Mohanty, focusing on the Odissi style of the late Guru Durga Debaprasad Das. She furthered her academic pursuits in dance by earning a Bisarada Purna degree from the Akhila Bharatiya Gandharva Mahavidyalaya Mandal, Mumbai. Beyond her artistic accomplishments, she also holds a Master's degree in Economics from Utkal University, Bhubaneswar. Throughout her career, Rajashree Chintak Behera has graced numerous stages both within India and internationally. Her notable performances in India include the Apna Utsav in New Delhi (1986), Yuvs Utsav in Jaipur (1988), Konark Dance Festival in Orissa (1995), and the International Odissi Festival in Bhubaneswar (2006). Her international engagements have taken her to countries such as Australia (1987), China (1989), North Korea (1989), Uzbekistan (1990), the United Kingdom (1995), Bulgaria (1998, 1999), Hungary (1999), Germany (1999), and the USA (2002, 2003). She has also conducted lecture demonstrations and choreographed dance dramas abroad. Recognized for her contributions, she has been an 'A' grade dancer by the Orissa Sangeet Natak Akademi and an 'A' grade artiste in Doordarshan. She is also a recipient of the Government of India Scholarship (Junior and Senior) and a Junior Fellowship in Classical Dance from 1993 to 1995. Currently, Rajashree Chintak Behera resides in Moscow, Russia, with her husband, Dr. Subhakanta Behera, and serves as a cultural ambassador of India, dedicated to promoting Odissi dance to Russian enthusiasts.
