Rajesh Sai Babu is an internationally renowned Indian dance artist and educator, celebrated for his mastery of UNESCO-recognized Mayurbhanj Chhau. Born on March 1, 1984, in Delhi, India, he hails from a distinguished lineage of Chhau performers. His grandfather was the esteemed Guru Ananta Charan Sai Babu, a Sangeet Natak Akademi Awardee, and his father is Guru Janmejoy Sai Babu, also a Sangeet Natak Akademi Awardee. Rajesh Sai Babu received his initial training in Mayurbhanj Chhau from his father and grandfather, continuing their legacy. He also trained in other dance forms including Bharatanatyam under Guru Jyotsna Shourie, ballet under Fernando Aguilera, contemporary dance and creative dance under Gilles Chuyen, and jazz dance under Ashley Loobo. Currently, Rajesh Sai Babu serves as the director of Gurukul Chhau Dance Sangam in Delhi, an institution founded by his father in 1979, where he actively promotes and teaches Mayurbhanj Chhau alongside his brother Rakesh Sai Babu. He is acclaimed for his choreography, having received awards from television shows like Dance Bangla Dance on ZEE TV, India's Got Talent (Runner Up), and Entertainment Ke Liye Kuch Bhi Karega. His performances have graced global platforms such as the Khajuraho Dance Festival, National Festival of Creative Arts, and Delhi Folk Dance Festival. Rajesh Sai Babu is dedicated to fostering the next generation of dancers, conducting workshops and educational programs worldwide to ensure the enduring legacy of Mayurbhanj Chhau.
