Raka Banerjee is an Indian classical dancer specializing in Bharatanatyam. She commenced her dance training at a young age in Kolkata before continuing her studies in New Delhi under the tutelage of the renowned Dr. Yamini Krishnamurti. Banerjee marked a significant milestone in her dance career with her Bharatanatyam Arangetram on September 9, 2012, at the Sri Sathya Sai International Centre in New Delhi. She has actively participated in various dance concerts, including school programs and performances at venues such as Azad Bhawan, ICCR, Gurgaon Epicentre, and the IGNOU convention centre. Additionally, she has been featured in a thematic dance documentary focusing on the "Chipko movement" and has performed in concerts alongside her guru, Dr. Yamini Krishnamurthy. Beyond her dedication to dance, Raka Banerjee has pursued other artistic interests, including piano and flute, and has engaged in social work, notably with Helpage India and in efforts for the restoration of the Begampur Mosque in New Delhi. Her mother, Dr. Kamalika Banerjee, is also a dancer, choreographer, and singer, while her father, Mr. Purnendu Banerjee, is a statistician.
