Renjish Rajan Nair is an acclaimed Indian classical dancer specializing in Kathakali, a classical dance-drama form originating from Kerala. He is recognized as a rare artist dedicated to the intricate and elaborate dance form. Renjish began his formal dance training at the age of seven in 1995, under the tutelage of Kalashree Kalamandalam C. Gopalakrishnan at Kalakshethram, Dombivli. He also received training from renowned gurus such as Kavuvattam Anil Kumar Poduval, Kalamandalam Nandakumar, and Sadanam Ramadas. His arangettam (debut) took place in 1997, after which he began performing globally. A significant milestone in his career was performing at the prestigious Khajuraho Festival in 2000 alongside the Kathakali doyen and maestro, the late Padmabhushan Kalamandalam Dr. Ramanakutty Nair. Renjish Nair is an "A" grade artiste accredited by Doordarshan, Mumbai, and has performed at various esteemed events across India, including the Kala Ghoda Arts Festival, Upvan Arts Festival, Jaya Smriti, and Sangeet Natak Akademi Jodhpur. Beyond his prowess in Kathakali, he is also an accomplished Chenda artist and a Carnatic music trainer, having studied Carnatic Music under the late Guru Venkatachalam and Usha Varrier. He is actively associated with Kalakshethram, Dombivli, an institution that promotes Indian art forms. Renjish Nair emphasizes the importance of bringing one's unique essence to the art, a lesson he learned from his guru.
