Rashmi Vaidialingam was initiated into dance at the early age of six, beginning her training in Bharatanatyam under the tutelage of the late Vidwan Guru T.R. Devanathan of Kalakshetra. She later pursued Kuchipudi, performing under the guidance of eminent Gurus Padmabhushan Raja and Radha Reddy. Beyond her dance career, Vaidialingam is also an accomplished academic and professional, holding a B.A. degree in Economics (Hons) and an L.L.B. from Delhi University, and practices as a lawyer in the Delhi High Court. Her career as a dancer includes extensive performances both in India and abroad, with tours to countries such as Japan, Hong Kong, Bangkok, and Sri Lanka under the aegis of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) and the Ministry of Culture. She participated in the All India Kuchipudi Dance Festivals in Hyderabad in December 1996 and performed at the prestigious Rang Mahotsava 2000 Festival organized by the National School of Drama. Vaidialingam is also a versatile stage actress, having acted in approximately 30 plays and 20 well-known television serials, and is a founder member of “Bhoomika,” an institution dedicated to modern creative dance, run by Shri Narendera Sharma.
