Rasya Ramesh is an emerging Bharatanatyam dancer and instructor, currently pursuing a fourth-year marketing degree at Drexel University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where she is also enrolled in an accelerated BS/MBA program. Her journey in Bharatanatyam began at the age of five, under the tutelage of her mother, Ramaa Ramesh, who is the Founder and Director of the Nardhana Academy of Dance. Rasya completed her Arangetram, a significant milestone in Bharatanatyam, in 2019. Throughout her career, Rasya has actively performed and represented both the Nardhana Academy of Dance and the Daksha Dance Troupe, a Bollywood/Bhangra dance institution, at various cultural events across the East Coast of the United States. Beyond performing, she is also involved in teaching dance at both Nardhana and Daksha, and contributes to the administrative functions of these organizations. Her artistic pursuits extend beyond Bharatanatyam; Rasya has been a competitive figure skater since the age of three. She has also explored her passion for music by studying piano and vocal Carnatic music, and has experimented with her own musical compositions. Rasya Ramesh hails from a family with a rich artistic and historical legacy, being born into the family of the revered Tamil Poet and Freedom Fighter, Mahakavi Subramania Bharatiyar, whose legacy she hopes to continue.
