Rathi Ramesh Sandilya is an accomplished Bharatanatyam dancer, teacher, and choreographer based in Philadelphia, USA. She is the daughter and a senior disciple of Smt. Ramaa Ramesh, the founder and director of Nardhana Academy of Dance, where Rathi commenced her Bharatanatyam training at the tender age of three. Rathi continues to actively represent Nardhana Academy of Dance, participating in numerous prestigious performances and charity shows both locally and internationally. Her dedication to classical Indian dance is complemented by her professional background in Finance & Marketing, holding an MBA from Drexel University, and her current role in Entertainment Product and Analytics for a large technology company in Philadelphia. Beyond Bharatanatyam, Rathi Ramesh Sandilya has significantly contributed to the South Asian dance scene in the US. Alongside her husband Dhruv, she co-founded Daksha Dance Troupe, a prominent school and community that offers a wide variety of South Asian Fusion Choreography, including Bollywood, Bhangra, Hip-Hop, Tollywood, and Kuthu. She serves as a co-founder and lead choreographer for Daksha Dance Troupe, bringing over 15 years of teaching experience to her roles. Her leadership extends to her collegiate years, where she captained Villanova's premier Bollywood Fusion Dance Team, Nova Nassa, leading them to perform at numerous championships. Rathi has also explored the traditional art of Nattuvangam, learning to wield the cymbals in the traditional method from percussionist Mayuram Sri. J. Shankar. Her passion for music was initially fostered by Smt. Lata Suresh and further developed under the guidance of Veena artist Kalaimaamani. Mudikondaan Sri. S.N. Ramesh and vocalist, Smt. Bama Visveswaran. Rathi Ramesh Sandilya's diverse expertise and commitment to both classical and contemporary Indian dance forms make her a notable figure in the diaspora's cultural landscape.
