Sadanam Mohanan is a distinguished Indian classical dance figure, renowned for his contributions to Kathakali, a major classical dance-drama form from Kerala. He is also known as Sadanam Mohan and Mohan Kumar, with the prefix "Sadanam" indicating his extensive training of at least six years at the Gandhi Sevasadanam Kathakali Academy. Mohanan has been actively performing since 1996, captivating audiences both domestically and internationally with his daily performances. Throughout his career, Sadanam Mohanan has portrayed significant characters in various Kathakali productions. In January 2023, he notably performed the role of Arjuna in 'Ekalavyan' during the 70th-anniversary celebrations of the Gandhi Sevasadanam Kathakali Academy. His other notable performances include enacting Dussasanan in 'Karnasapatham' in December 2021, participating in 'Krimeeravadham Kathakali' in April 2014, and portraying Roudra Bheeman in 'Duryodhana Vadham' in September 2024. Beyond his stage performances, Mohanan has also engaged in teaching, conducting private Kathakali classes for students. His dedication and artistry in Kathakali have been recognized with awards, including the Chennithala Chellappan Pillai Birth Centenary Award, which he received in February 2025.
