Samaya Chauhan is an emerging Kuchipudi dancer from New Delhi, India. She began her training in Kuchipudi at the age of seven, having initially been introduced to Bharatnatyam. For over ten years, she has been a dedicated disciple of the esteemed Gurus Padma Bhushan Dr. Raja Reddy, Dr. Radha Reddy, and Smt. Kaushalya Reddy, who have nurtured her growth and instilled in her a deep appreciation for the art form's heritage. In January 2025, at the age of sixteen, Samaya made her professional debut with her Kuchipudi 'Rangapravesham' at the Kamani Auditorium in New Delhi, a performance that showcased her command over rhythm, agility, and emotive expressions. Her recital included pieces like 'Saanson ki maala pe Simrun Main Pii Ka Naam,' choreographed by Guru Raja Reddy, and the intricate 'Tarangam,' where she danced on the rim of a brass plate. Beyond her artistic pursuits, Samaya is also a social entrepreneur. She co-founded the NGO 'Dance with Dil,' which aims to spread happiness and healing through dance among underprivileged children, those with developmental disabilities, and the elderly. She is also the founder of 'Plan Y' (Policy and Leadership Action Network for Youth), an initiative focused on advocating for youth mental health, climate change, and girl child education, and through which she leads the 'Dance for Good' project, offering dance therapy workshops to survivors of harassment, acid attacks, and individuals facing various health challenges.
