🪔 About
Sanchalana Krishna is an emerging Indian classical dancer dedicated to the Kuchipudi tradition. Hailing from a family deeply rooted in the art form, she represents the third generation of dancers in her lineage. Her foundational training in Kuchipudi was imparted by her grandmother, Smt. Padma Kalyan, and further honed under the tutelage of her mother, Dr. Kiranmai Bonala. Both Smt. Padma Kalyan and Dr. Kiranmai Bonala are prominent figures associated with the Sanchalana School of Dance, an institution based in Hyderabad, India. This academy, formerly known as Anasuya Arts Academy, has a rich history spanning over 35 years, committed to preserving and promoting the traditional form of Kuchipudi dance. Sanchalana Krishna marked a significant milestone in her artistic journey with her Rangapravesam, her official debut performance, which took place on August 27, 2022. The prestigious Ravindra Bharathi Auditorium in Hyderabad served as the venue for this event, where she presented various Kuchipudi compositions. Notable among her performances during this debut was "Saptaarnavam", and she has also been documented performing a "Javali". Her dedication to Kuchipudi is evident in the description of her learning process, characterized by passion, love, and immense discipline. As a young artist, Sanchalana Krishna continues to carry forward the legacy of her family and the Sanchalana School of Dance, contributing to the vibrant landscape of Indian classical dance.
