Kalamandalam Sangeeth Chakyar is a distinguished Indian classical dance figure, renowned for his mastery in Kutiyattam and Koothu, traditional Sanskrit theatre forms originating from Kerala, India. He received his training at the prestigious Kerala Kalamandalam under the tutelage of Rama Chakyar. Sangeeth Chakyar hails from the Kuttanchery Chakyar Madom family, a lineage with a rich heritage in Koothu and Kutiyattam, and he is recognized as the sole practicing artist in his family currently upholding this ancient tradition. His family holds the traditional right to stage Kutiyattam in esteemed temples such as Guruvayoor, Kadavakkir, and Peruvanam, where he has been performing the associated rites and rituals for two decades. With over 15 years of experience, Sangeeth Chakyar has performed both Koothu and Kutiyattam extensively across India and internationally. His performances include a Kutiyattam presentation in Hyderabad, organized by the Kutiyattam Kendra of Sangeet Natak Akademi and Nartanam. He has also conducted lecture demonstrations, such as the one at Srikrishna College, Guruvayur, where he showcased "Ajagara Kabalitam" and "Parvathi Virham." Currently, he serves as an Instructor Grade II at Kerala Kalamandalam, contributing to the preservation and propagation of these classical art forms. He has also conducted workshops for students from institutions like the National School of Drama, Varanasi, and Rangayana Theatre, Mysuru.
