Sanika Vivek is an emerging Bharatanatyam dancer, known for her solo recital and her training under Guru Sneha Vivek. She is the daughter and disciple of Guru Sneha Vivek, who is the Artistic Director of the Natya Ninada Performing Arts Foundation in Fremont, California, USA. Sanika received her training in the Pandanallur style of Bharatanatyam, a traditional and revered style of this classical Indian dance form. Her guru, Smt. Sneha Vivek, has dedicated over three decades to Indian classical dance and received her training from renowned gurus including "Karnataka Kalashri" Vidwan Chandrashekar Navada. Sanika Vivek performed her first solo recital, or arangetram, on May 22nd, 2022, at the Dougherty Valley Performing Arts Center in San Ramon, California. This performance was dedicated as a fundraiser for a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Her recital was well-received, with the audience appreciating her grace, precision, and "Anga Shuddhi" in the fast-paced dances, as well as her "abhinaya" (expressive interpretation) that conveyed the "Bhava" (emotion) and "Rasa" (aesthetic flavor) of the stories. Sanika's performance was highlighted as an inspiration for young students to pursue Indian classical dance.
