Sanjay Vadapalli is an acclaimed Indian classical dancer, performer, and choreographer, primarily known for his mastery of Andhra Natyam, Perini (both Lasya and Tandava aspects), and Navajanardhana Parijatam, ancient temple dance forms of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. He is also recognized for his captivating performances as a female impersonator. Vadapalli began his dance journey at the age of six, after his parents noticed his innate talent for rhythm and movement. He initially trained under a guru who was a disciple of Padmashri Dr. Nataraj Ramakrishna, the reviver of Andhra Natyam. After a year, he continued his training directly under Dr. Nataraj Ramakrishna at Perini International, and is also a disciple of Dr. Kalakrishna. Throughout his career, Sanjay Vadapalli has garnered accolades for his command over technique (Nritta and Nritya) and Abhinaya (expression). He has had the privilege of performing for legendary figures in Indian classical dance, including Pt. Birju Maharaj, Sitara Devi, Vempati Chinna Satyam, and Kelucheran Mohapatra. He is the founder of the dance academy 'Dancing Bells' and also leads the Vadapalli Cultural Trust, through which he promotes and propagates these traditional dance forms. Based in Hong Kong, he actively teaches and performs internationally, with a significant presence in India, particularly Hyderabad. Vadapalli is dedicated to continuing the legacy of his gurus, aspiring to bring well-deserved recognition to Andhra Natyam and Perini on the global stage. Awards & Honours: Satrajiti.
