Sarbani Ghosh is a distinguished Indian classical danseuse, born into a family rich in music and art. She holds a Master's degree in Bharatanatyam from Rabindra Bharati University, a Nritya Visharad diploma in Bharatanatyam from Prachin Kala Kendra, Chandigarh, and a Nrityaratna Diploma from B.S.P.. Her extensive training in Bharatanatyam was under the tutelage of esteemed gurus including Guru Khagendra Nath Burman, Guru Natya charya M.C. Vedant, and Dr. Yamini Krishnamurthy. She further expanded her repertoire by training in Kuchipudi under Guru Manju Bhargavi. Beyond these primary forms, Sarbani Ghosh possesses knowledge in seven classical dance forms, as well as Russian Ballet, Flamenco, and Indian Martial Art. In 1993, she established her own performing and visual arts academy, "Sarbani Ajanta Kala Sangam" (AKS), which operates both in India and internationally. She is recognized as a renowned mentor, choreographer, and director. Sarbani Ghosh is also the visionary behind significant cultural events such as The Rukmini Devi Arundale International Dance Festival, Ajanta Samman, and Ajanta Yuba Fest. Her contributions to dance are further acknowledged by her membership in the International Dance Council (UNESCO). Her career as a performer spans decades, with documented highlights from 1977 onwards, including performances in Kolkata and at the Gwalior Music Festival.
