Shambhavi Sharma is an accomplished young Kuchipudi dancer, cultural leader, and social innovator from India. She has been rigorously trained in Kuchipudi for nine years under the tutelage of the world-renowned Padmashri Gurus Raja Radha Reddy. Sharma has showcased her talent at prestigious venues, including performances at the International Rajgir Mahotsav and the G20 Youth Connect programme, where she represented India's cultural heritage before global leaders. Currently a Class 12 science student, Shambhavi Sharma also serves as the President of Sanskriti's Cultural Council, where she works to integrate diverse student perspectives into cultural events. In August 2024, she founded "Nrityamrit," an initiative that blends classical dance with therapeutic practices to foster healing and empowerment. Through Nrityamrit, she conducts weekly Kuchipudi sessions for underprivileged children, teaching basic dance steps and nurturing creativity. She also extends her therapeutic dance sessions to hospitals, providing emotional solace to patients in recovery, army veterans, post-operative care patients, gynaecology patients, and new mothers. Her work with Nrityamrit has shown significant positive impact, with an informal survey indicating a 90% mood improvement among over 150 participants. Beyond dance, Sharma is a passionate advocate for inclusive art, having initiated "Unruly Art" and "Project Prakash." These initiatives empower specially-abled and visually impaired children to express themselves creatively through art, raising funds for their support. Her dedication lies in using art as a powerful medium for healing, connection, and social impact, bridging cultural traditions with modern community engagement.
