Shekar Rajendran is an accomplished Indian classical dancer, choreographer, and educator based in Bangalore, Karnataka, India. He holds a Commerce degree and a postgraduate degree in Human Resource Management, alongside a Diploma in Dance with Distinction. Shekar Rajendran received extensive training in Bharatanatyam for over 25 years under the tutelage of eminent Gurus Dr. Suparna Venkatesh and Dr. Sanjay Shantaram. He has also established himself as a notable performer of Kuchipudi. Throughout his career, Shekar Rajendran has performed in numerous prestigious concerts globally, spreading Indian heritage through his participation in various state and international events. His international performances include tours across the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Canada, Indonesia, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Switzerland, Thailand, UAE, UK, and USA. He also had the honor of performing in the presence of the King of Ipoh, Malaysia. As an educator, Shekar Rajendran founded the "Shekar Dance Academy" in Bangalore, where he trains and nurtures aspiring dancers in Indian classical dance forms. He also established the "Maya Dance Ensemble," a dynamic and innovative performing team dedicated to preserving and promoting India's rich cultural heritage worldwide. Furthermore, he organizes "PUTANI HEJJE," a unique art festival designed to provide a platform for budding artists aged 7-14 to showcase various Indian classical dance forms, including Bharatanatyam, Kuchipudi, Kathak, Mohiniattam, Yakshagana, and Odissi.
