Shreema Upadhyaya is an accomplished Bharatanatyam artist from Bengaluru, India. Her journey in classical dance began at the tender age of four, and she has since been rigorously trained under the tutelage of Guru Sri P. Praveen Kumar for nearly two decades. She is recognized as a senior disciple of the Chithkala School of Dance. Upadhyaya's first stage performance took place when she was seven years old, followed by her solo debut at the age of twelve. She is celebrated for her exceptional Nritta technique and eloquent Abhinaya. Throughout her career, Shreema Upadhyaya has performed extensively as a soloist across India and internationally, gracing prestigious platforms such as the Spirit of Youth series at the Madras Music Academy and the Chandrasekharan Endowment series. She has also collaborated with notable figures in the dance world, including working with Padmasri Malavika Sarukkai as part of her ensemble for "Thari-The Loom" (2017) and with Gurus Kiran Subramaniam and Sandhya Kiran in their production "Maanini" (2019). Beyond her contributions to classical dance, Upadhyaya expanded her artistic endeavors into acting, making her debut as Maathuli in Mani Ratnam's acclaimed film "Ponniyin Selvan: Part Two" (2023). She also engages in modeling and actively promotes dance and yoga through her social media platforms. Her dedication and talent have earned her significant recognition, including the Scholarship for Young Artists from the Government of India (also known as the CCRT Scholarship) and being a graded artist of Doordarshan, Bengaluru. In January 2024, she was honored with "The Best Dancer" award from the Madras Music Academy (HCL concert series).
