Shreetama Mukherjee is a professional Kathak dancer and a 5th-year medical student, having trained for over 14 years under the tutelage of Guruji Dr. Abhay Shankar Mishra, a renowned Kathak master. Her Kathak journey commenced at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan. She marked a significant milestone in her dance career by completing her Rang Manch Pravesh in 2019. Mukherjee has further honed her skills through intensive training in India and by attending workshops conducted by legendary artists such as the late Pandit Birju Maharaj, Rani Khanam ji, and Vidushi Saswati Sen. As a performer, Shreetama Mukherjee has graced the stages of prestigious venues including the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, The Royal Albert Hall, Southbank Centre, The Nehru Centre, and Wembley Arena. Beyond her performance career, she is also a dedicated educator. She serves as one of the current Resident Kathak teachers at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan in London. Additionally, she began teaching her own weekly Kathak classes in North West London, specifically in Mill Hill, starting from November 2022, offering both in-person and online sessions. Her teaching success is evident as her students have consistently maintained a 100% pass rate in graded examinations, with many achieving distinctions. Mukherjee has also received awards for her choreography for national-level dance competitions at her university.
