Shyamala Tejomurthy is a Kathak dancer and the founder, director, and choreographer of Shyamala Dance Academy, based in Canada. She received her training in Kathak from notable gurus including Pt. Rajendra Gangani of the Jaipur gharana, Hemant Panwar, and Vaishali. Her academy focuses on teaching Kathak, and has hosted its first annual dance recital in Richmond Hill, featuring classical, modern, and Bollywood dances. The Shyamala Dance Academy actively participates in cultural events, such as being welcomed to LWAF 2026. Through her academy, Shyamala Tejomurthy is dedicated to imparting the knowledge of Kathak dance to her students.
