Sivasri Skandaprasad is a multifaceted Indian classical artist, recognized as a Bharatanatyam dancer, Carnatic musician, choreographer, and the founder of Ahuti, an institution dedicated to promoting Indian art forms. Born on August 1, 1996, in Chennai, she hails from a distinguished family of musicians and dancers, including her father, Mridangam maestro Seerkazhi Sri J. Skandaprasad, and paternal grandparents, Kalaimamani late Seerkazhi R. Jayaraman and Shanthi Jayaraman. She began her Bharatanatyam training at the age of three under the guidance of Kalaimamani Smt. Krishnakumari Narendran and Acharya Choodamani Guru Smt. Roja Kannan. She also received extensive training in classical Carnatic music from Guru Sri A. S. Murali. Sivasri holds an MA in Bharatanatyam from the University of Madras and a B.Tech in Bio-Engineering from SASTRA University, Thanjavur. Her career includes numerous solo Bharatanatyam recitals and Carnatic concerts at prestigious venues in Chennai, such as The Music Academy, Narada Gana Sabha, Sri Krishna Gana Sabha, Brahma Gana Sabha, and Kartik Fine Arts. She has also accompanied eminent Bharatanatyam artists vocally and represented India on ICCR tours to Denmark (2018) and the Republic of Korea (2019) as a Government Diplomat alongside her guru Smt. Roja Kannan. Sivasri debuted as a playback singer for A.R. Rahman's musical 'Ponniyin Selvan' (Kannada). Through Ahuti, she aims to nurture and enrich future generations in the 64 Indian art forms.
